Recently, Good Sounds owner, Mitch Goodz was contacted by the folks at Tech Company News. They wanted to interview him for a featured article on their website to find out what makes Good Sounds stand out among Orange County audio video companies, and how we’ve managed to thrive for more than 35 years, despite multiple economic downturns.
As you’ll read in the interview on the Tech Company News site, residential audiovisual companies with more than 35 years of experience are hard to come by. When Mitch first started in the industry, there were no other companies like ours on the West Coast, let alone Orange County, offering high-end audiovisual systems specifically for homes. It took some time to gain acceptance into the custom home building market in the early 1980s. Many designers and builders had their established way of doing things, and didn’t see the need for our services at first. But we stayed with it, knowing we had a good business concept and that others would see the value in what we were offering.
In the interview, Mitch also talks about what sets Good Sounds apart from other Orange County audio video companies. One thing that Mitch points to as a differentiating factor is our planning and design process. Mitch says, “We offer full system design, engineering, and documentation services for every large-scale project we take on. No system is built off of a napkin sketch. We do not fly by the seat of our pants, but use a professional process for all of our projects.”
Mitch also makes a point of saying in the interview that Good Sounds differentiates itself by being very careful in the selection of products we use in the homes of our Orange County clients. He says, “We source our product line from industry established manufacturers. We do not experiment on our clients’ projects with ‘flavor-of-the-month’ products and technologies. Rather, we make sure that a product is road tested, with a solid track record, before it becomes part of our system designs.” At the same time, Mitch says that Good Sounds “…spare[s] no effort to stay on top of emerging technologies and bring[s] the very latest proven products into our designs.”
