As many of our customers know, Good Sounds has been serving Orange County as an audiovisual company for more than 30 years. We didn’t achieve this level of longevity (30 years is an eternity in the audiovisual industry!) by resting on our laurels, as they say. We are constantly adopting new technologies and expanding our services.
Recently, we determined that it was time for our company to expand the networking services we offer our clients. Our team now has the ability to build a network from the ground up, or we can take stock of existing networking systems and upgrade as necessary.
As an audiovisual company, we knew it was important that we offer our clients the option of using AV over IP (also referred to as HDMI over IP) to connect their AV networks. This type of setup involves sending audio/video signals over ethernet cables, rather than the traditionally used HDMI cables. This is a great money-saving option for homes that are new builds, since it only requires that one set of cables be run throughout the home.
As anyone who regularly streams video or audio content over the internet can tell you, a computer network is a perfectly acceptable way to distribute this type of content. Here at Good Sounds, we are adapting this technology to handle all of the AV needs in a large, custom home.
A major advantage of using this type of network infrastructure (in addition to the cost savings) is the flexibility it provides. If a homeowner ever wants to expand or reconfigure their AV system, it is much easier using AV over IP than it would be with a traditional AV infrastructure. And when you use products that are compatible with 4K resolution display devices in an IP-based system, you won’t see any reduction in image quality. Similarly, audio quality is in no way compromised when it is run over ethernet cables.
Along with this expansion in the networking services we provide comes improved system monitoring capabilities. All of the networks set up by Good Sounds can be monitored remotely using cloud-based products like Pakedge, SonicWall, and Meraki. By offering 24/7 remote monitoring, we can stay on top of threats to your system, oversee the status of your network devices, receive regular updates on your download/upload speeds, and be notified of any necessary updates in firmware for your devices. Overall, your system will be more secure and less susceptible to downtime when it is monitored by the team at Good Sounds.
If you’ve been looking for an audiovisual company in Orange County to help design a system for your home that will serve you well for many years to come, contact the AV professionals at Good Sounds. We look forward to hearing from you!
